Nothing works like working upon oneself

Nothing works like working upon oneself

Our work always begins (or should begin) from working on ourselves no matter what we are about to work on.

All work then becomes easy.

Learning to read

I was explaining to my little daughter how we learn to read- At first the text on a page looks like a confusion of shapes in black on white.
When you learn to recognise the characters, the text on a page begins to appear like a random pattern of characters.
When you learn to recoginse specific patterns of character as words, it begins to take on added meaning.
And as you begin to associate the words with learnings, experiences and feelings it becomes even more meaningful...

So what happens through this process?
What happens is that we begin to build associations and see the interrelationships. We begin to see things in greater and greater completeness.

Nothing changed on the outside. It was our inner development that changed the way we interpreted and experienced the reality of a thousand black marks sprayed on white.

The world is what it is. How we see (experience) it depends on what we are on the inside.

Perhaps the biggest gift that we can give to ourselves is to develop that inner self. Perhaps the biggest gift we can give others is to help them (in whatever way possbile) grow their own inner selves.
