Nothing works like working upon oneself

Nothing works like working upon oneself

Our work always begins (or should begin) from working on ourselves no matter what we are about to work on.

All work then becomes easy.

Learning to read

I was explaining to my little daughter how we learn to read- At first the text on a page looks like a confusion of shapes in black on white.
When you learn to recognise the characters, the text on a page begins to appear like a random pattern of characters.
When you learn to recoginse specific patterns of character as words, it begins to take on added meaning.
And as you begin to associate the words with learnings, experiences and feelings it becomes even more meaningful...

So what happens through this process?
What happens is that we begin to build associations and see the interrelationships. We begin to see things in greater and greater completeness.

Nothing changed on the outside. It was our inner development that changed the way we interpreted and experienced the reality of a thousand black marks sprayed on white.

The world is what it is. How we see (experience) it depends on what we are on the inside.

Perhaps the biggest gift that we can give to ourselves is to develop that inner self. Perhaps the biggest gift we can give others is to help them (in whatever way possbile) grow their own inner selves.

Non-Doing

Non-Doing is not Non-action. Non-Doing is not about losing one's self in action. It is about taking appropriate action. It is about Non-Interference with the Natural process. It is about doing only the Necessary and Sufficient. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Akarmeva Moksha - Freedom lies in Non-Doing

The dynamic knowledge

Guru represents the dynamic knowledge - interpreting the enduring knowledge for the changing times and situations.

The Guru is the stream of consciousness flowing through the world, generation to generation; that consciousness’ is God himself.

Om Guru. Guru Om.

Touched by Grace

Her presence fills the room
But I don't see her working by herself in the chair

I can feel her with me everywhere
I look all around but can't find her anywhere

She's closer now than she was before
Though I can't reach out and touch her anymore

I see her in all things beautiful and fair
But can't spot her however long I stare

I lost her somewhere I don't know where
But she comes in with every morning air
To touch me with her loving care

She is the river
She is the cloud now
Once near and small
Without bounds and all around me now
